Compliance Logging and Reporting

Last updated March 27, 2026

Overview

LoopString's compliance logging feature generates regulatory reports from your sensor data. Whether you need HACCP documentation for food safety, FDA 21 CFR Part 117 records for preventive controls, or USDA Cold Storage logs for temperature-controlled warehousing, the system pulls data from your sensor history and formats it to the appropriate standard.

Access compliance reports at /compliance in the main navigation.

Supported Standards

HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points)

Tracks critical control points (CCPs) with time-temperature logs, corrective actions, and verification records. Commonly required for food processing, restaurants, and catering operations.

FDA 21 CFR Part 117

Current Good Manufacturing Practice and preventive controls for human food. Generates records showing environmental monitoring, supplier verification, and process control data as required by the FDA.

USDA Cold Storage

Temperature monitoring records for cold storage facilities, refrigerated transport, and frozen goods warehousing. Documents compliance with USDA temperature requirements for stored products.

Generating a Report

  1. Navigate to /compliance.
  2. Click Generate Report.
  3. Fill in the report form:
    • Device — Select which device's sensors to include.
    • Standard — Choose HACCP, FDA 21 CFR 117, or USDA Cold Storage.
    • Title — Name for this report (e.g., "March 2026 Walk-In Cooler Log").
    • Period — Number of days to cover (pulls sensor history for that window).
    • Facility name — Your facility's name for the report header.
  4. Click Create. The report status starts as "pending" and moves to "ready" when generation completes.

Report Contents

Each generated report includes:

  • Facility information — Name, address, license number, and contact details.
  • Sensor data logs — Time-series readings for all selected sensors during the report period.
  • Safe range verification — Each sensor's readings compared against configured safe ranges (min/max with units).
  • Excursion records — Any periods where readings went outside safe ranges, including peak values and duration.
  • Corrective actions — Space for documenting what was done when excursions occurred.

PDF Export

When a report's status is "ready," click the Download PDF button to save a formatted PDF. The PDF includes all report sections with proper headers, timestamps, and your facility branding.

Scheduled Reports

Set up automatic report generation on a recurring schedule:

  • Daily — Generate a report every day covering the previous 24 hours.
  • Weekly — Generate every week covering the previous 7 days.
  • Monthly — Generate on the first of each month covering the previous month.

Scheduled reports use the same device, standard, and facility settings you configure once. Each generated report appears in your report list for review and download.
