Sign Up
LoopString supports two sign-up methods:
Email and Password
- Navigate to loopstring.io and click Get Started
- Enter your email address and choose a password
- Click Create Account
- Check your inbox for a verification email and click the confirmation link
Google OAuth
- Click Get Started, then select Continue with Google
- Choose your Google account and authorize LoopString
- Your account is created automatically — no verification email needed
First-Time Setup
After signing in for the first time, you will see the onboarding checklist in your dashboard. This walks you through:
- Profile setup — Confirm your display name
- Add a device — Register your first Raspberry Pi
- Connect sensors — Wire up and verify sensor readings
- Create a flow — Use the Configurator to build your first automation
- Deploy — Push your flow to the Pi
You can dismiss the checklist at any time and return to it from your account settings.
Account Settings
Access your account settings from the user menu (top-right avatar):
- Display name — How you appear in team collaboration features
- Email — Your login email (cannot be changed for OAuth accounts)
- Notification preferences — Choose which alerts trigger email or in-app notifications
- Unit preferences — Select your preferred units for temperature, pressure, volume, and flow rate
Supported Unit Systems
- Temperature — Celsius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin
- Pressure — hPa, inHg, or psi
- Volume — Liters or gallons
- Flow Rate — Liters per minute or gallons per minute
Subscription Tiers
LoopString offers six pricing tiers based on the number of devices and sensor slots you need:
- Free — 1 device, 8 sensor slots
- Starter — 2 devices, 16 sensor slots
- Maker — 5 devices, 50 sensor slots
- Pro — 15 devices, 200 sensor slots
- Business — 50 devices, 1,000 sensor slots
- Enterprise — Unlimited devices and sensors
Annual billing provides a discount compared to monthly. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time from the billing dashboard.
