Dashboard Sharing
Share a read-only view of your dashboard with anyone — no LoopString account required. This is useful for:
- Sharing sensor data with clients or stakeholders
- Providing a monitoring view for team members without accounts
- Embedding live data in reports or presentations
Creating a Share Link
- Open the Share panel from the dashboard toolbar
- Click Create Share Link
- Configure the share options:
- Room filter — Select which rooms to include (or share all)
- Expiration — Set an expiry date or choose "No expiration"
- Click Generate Link
- Copy the URL and share it
Share Features
Shared dashboards provide:
- Real-time data — Same live updates as the full dashboard
- Read-only — No ability to control actuators, change setpoints, or modify settings
- Room filtering — Only rooms you selected are visible
- Responsive layout — Works on desktop and mobile
- Dark mode — Matches the viewer's OS preference
Managing Shares
View and manage active share links from the Share panel:
- View link — Copy the URL
- Revoke — Immediately disable the link
- Edit — Change room filtering or expiration
- View count — See how many times the link has been accessed
Security
- Share links are unguessable UUIDs stored in Firestore
- Revoking a link immediately denies access
- Expired links automatically stop working
- Shared views have no access to configuration, alerts, or account settings
- Share links grant read-only access to sensor data only
Team Collaboration
For team members who need full access, use Role-Based Access Control to invite users with appropriate permissions (owner, editor, or viewer roles).
